We offer a robust music program at Gem State Adventist Academy. Students learn music theory, go on tours and grow in their musical abilities. To learn more about our music program or have one of our musical groups perform at your event, please contact our Music Director. Ronnie Anderson.
Choir is a group of mixed voices open to all students that provides an opportunity to sing in a large vocal ensemble and learn the basics of music. Both sacred and secular music suited to the abilities of the members are performed during the year at a Christmas and Spring Concert, as well as occasional area church worship services.
Ripples is a beginner handbell group open to all students. Students do not need to be familiar with music in order to join. Students must be committed to pushing themselves, and to learning music notation and handbell technique in order to accelerate and improve throughout the year.
Soundwave is a select handbell group open by audition only. Advanced sacred and secular music is performed on a 5-octave set of Malmark English Handbells and three octaves of Malmark Handchimes. Each ringer must be dedicated to continuing the excellent reputation of this group as it performs in area churches, civic groups, and on tours throughout the Northwest and beyond.
Band is an instrumental group open to intermediate and advanced students by audition. This group consists of woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Both sacred and secular music suited to the abilities of the members are learned and performed. Performances include the Christmas and Spring concerts, and area church concerts, as well as a long tour around the Northwest every other year.
